Self Introduction
A pleasant meeting with everyone, I am Xiu Yi, currently a Pre-U student waiting for A levels results. This is my first experience as a tutor.
I am a positive and outgoing person who enjoys teaching my peers whenever they have doubts on any subjects, especially Math. Teaching has always been my passion as I was inspired by many wonderful teachers I am grateful to be guided by along my educational years. As such, i would like to instill such interest and desire to learn more in my peers and hopefully my students.
Based on my learning and teaching style, i strongly believed that having a good foundation and understanding is the most fundamental and essential step before one is able to apply on practice and exam questions. Hence, i will focus much on clearing doubts of a student before proceeding on to more challenging ones. Only when a student truly understands the logic and concept, can he/she achieves better results.
Personally, I have received the Edusave Scholarship for 4 consecutive years in Macpherson secondary school for being the top 5% of the cohort, and 6 Commendation Awards in St. Andrew Junior College in 2 years for being the top 25% of the cohort.
