Self Introduction |
I have had experiences in providing peer-tutoring for needy primary school students in English and Mathematics. The students showed steady improvements, by showing understanding of concepts and in applying them accurately in homework assignments. They showed more confidence in approaching questions, which is heartening to observe.
I also tutored primary 3, 4 and 5 students in Chinese and English in a tuition centre. To supplement the usual exam-style exercises, I prepared interactive worksheets to help students engage in the contents that were taught. By using short poems, rhymes and songs, I was able to help most students "memorise" and retain important content in their compulsory curriculums. I am more inclined to believe that interactive, two-way teaching is more effective in SUStaining students' attention span and their learning inclinations.
I am currently an undergraduate student. Having gone through pre-school, primary, secondary and junior college levels of the education system, I understand some difficulties, confusions and misconceptions that students face in various academic subjects. Hence, I hope that I could be offered opportunities to share my experiences, understanding, study notes and tips. |
