Self Introduction
I have been a part-time tutor for 4 years, mainly teaching Chinese and math for primary school students. I have five students before, two came from France where I taught them basic Chinese and English for communication, the other three are local students that came from primary 4,5 and 6 respectively. I taught the primary 5 and 6 students for Chinese and math. My way of teaching is to combine fun activities such as word games and content together so that students can pay attention during my class. At the same time, this can generate their interest in the subject and encourage independent learning. When teaching language, I believe that students can learn better through examples, hence I always show them a relevant video or create games to help them recap what they have learnt from the previous lesson. This method has proven to be effective as all my students have developed a stronger interest in Chinese and willing to learn beyond what is being covered in the lesson. I believe that practice make prefect, and hence I strongly believe in assigning homework to students to ensure that they are practising even if they are not attending my lesson. A mini-quiz will also be conducted before each lesson to make me understand their lesson process while helping them to recap the content covered in the previous session. This once again proves to be effective as my students jumped two grades for their math and Chinese.
