I have tutored 2 students last year (2011):
A P6 student in Maths and English
A Sec 5 student in Maths, Combined Physics/Chem and English
I have tutored a sec 5 student in English, Maths and Combined Physics/Chem (Dec 2011-Dec 2012). Her grades have improved, the most being Maths; from a C grade to getting A1 for both prelims before O levels (O levels unreleased as of this update).
I am now currently tutoring:
2 students in A maths, in preparation for university overseas
1 P2 student english and maths
1 P3 student in maths
1 P6 student in maths
I try my best to ignite interest for the subject within the student because that, I believe, is very important for the student to do well. I also do answer questions by student through sms/email as long as the question is not too complicated to explain over such methods. An understanding of what has been taught that day is most important, so more often than not I do extend my stay just for the student, rather than leave without a proper conclusion.
I am flexible with timing, and with subjects. Even though I may be teaching a particular subject, I welcome questions asked by the student about other subjects as long as I am able to answer them.
I genuinely enjoy teaching and imparting knowledge to students; their education is my top priority. |
