Self Introduction

I am a MOE Teaching Award holder, and hold a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) on top of my Bachelor of Arts, a double major in History and Southeast Asian Studies. I therefore specialise in Southeast Asian History (applicable to the Full History 'O' Level and H2 History 'A' Level).

My teaching stints in Beatty Secondary, Outram Secondary, and currently ACS (Barker Road) have enabled me to teach a variety of students from different streams and school profiles. I have been consistently teaching graduating students, and thus have much familiarity with the 'O' Level Syllabuses for both History and Social Studies (2017 Syllabus).

Although I am an MOE teacher, my experience as a student in Raffles Institution's Integrated Programme allows me to flexibly alter my tutoring to my students' needs. I have also had teaching experiences in both Raffles Institution and School of the Arts (SOTA), and am comfortable with teaching History and Social Studies outside of the 'O' Level Syllabuses.

Being from a 1:1 School, I specialise in harnessing InfoComm Technology (ICT) to my students' advantage. My tutoring commitment will therefore go beyond the face-to-face sessions, as I will be able to assign work and assess the tutees at any time of the week. Tutees may also ask for assistance and support online.

I have a stellar tutoring record, having tutees who accomplish 'O' Level A1s in Combined Humanities after rigourous training (recommendations can be provided). Being from an all-boys school, I adopt a no-nonsense policy in tutoring gentlemen and demand high levels of effort from them. Excellence can be cultivated over time, but effort should be consistent.
