Self Introduction

Brief introduction

I have more than 15 years of experience in teaching Primary and Secondary Students. I have taught more than 30 students from Singapore, Philippines, Myanmar, Indonesia, Korea & Taiwan. I can handle individual and group tuition. Some of my students are with me for as long as 8 years (from Primary 2 - Secondary 4). I can teach A-maths & D/E-maths for Secondary levels and Eng, Maths, Chinese and Science for Primary level.
I have taught students from Chartsworth international, Fairfield Methodist Primary and Secondary, Queenstown Secondary, New Town Secondary, Bukit Panjang Primary, Commonwealth Secondary School, Outram Secondary School, Choa Chu Kang Secondary & Ghim Moh Secondary School.
I have the determination, perseverance and patience to teach different types of students. I am very familiar with the possible problem with a child who cannot perform in exam. I will focus to suit the remedy to the case. Importantly, I love teaching.

Brief Description of my teaching experiences
Primary school students are young and playful. Usually, the key factors resulting poor grades are their interest to the particular subjects. “Interest” caused a ‘chain effect’ on the students. Building up their interest and confidence is very important. Creative teaching is very effective in cultivating their interest, especially for their weaker subjects.
When their interest and confidence is regained, they will feel more comfortable to have tuition lessons. Otherwise, tuition lessons will not be effective.
Similarly for Secondary school students, interest and confidence are the key factors resulting their grades. At this age, the students are developing and they have their own perspective in their thinking and way of doing things. Being strict and reprimanding is no longer effective way to teach and manage them.
Different child will have their own set of characters & style. Understanding their characters, interests and style are very important in order to construct an effective and efficient teaching method. Thus, I’ll build rapport with the students and guide them to attain good results.
